Heat the oil in a pot, while chopping the onion into small pieces, the garlic and the red bell pepper into strips.

Sauté the onion and garlic in hot oil until the garlic is browned and the onion is transparent.

In the meantime, peel the potatoes and cut them into small pieces to thicken the broth.

Add paprika to the sofrito while you wash the cod strips to desalinate them. Stir frequently.
