Heat a little water. Pour it in a bowl and add salt and olive oil.

Add little by little the PAN type precooked corn flour (I use one from Mercadona). Knead very well with your hands so that there are no lumps. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let stand for 5-10 min.

We form small balls with the dough and then we flatten them little by little to give the shape of an arepa. To prevent the dough from sticking to your hands, dip them in water. Pour a little oil in a pan. I usually use oil spray. Fry the arepas over medium-high heat for about 6-8 minutes on each side.

When the arepas are done, cut them in half without cutting all the way through. They have to be joined on one side.

We prepare the filling. Here we can use our imagination. I made it with tuna, egg, olives and mayonnaise. It can also be made with tomato, avocado, shredded meat, etc.
